As compared to many countries in the European Union, the Swiss economy quickly emerged from the recession and has been growing in strength. In the first quarter of 2010, the economy increased by about 3.5% than the previous year. In most cases foreigners are barred from owing the property property and especially for the rental and buy to let property in Switzerland. Further, the federal government has set an annual quota for the Swiss real estate listings that can be purchased by the foreigners.

This may speed up the process of Swiss property sale and purchase and transfer. Earlier, there were many delays in the transfer of the properties, since the canton rules varied and cantonal authorization was required before a transfer of Swiss Real Estate Property is required.
Foreigners aren’t allowed any residential property for yielding Swiss rentals. Only subsided housing can be bought by the non Swiss residents that are below the Swiss rental market yields. The gross Swiss rentals are moderate and fluctuate between 3.15 to 5.5%. Even though Geneva, which is home to many international organizations, the Swiss rentals are low at 4.05%. The Swiss rentals for the residential apartments in Zurich are slightly better and stand at about 4.6%. The prices for the Swiss Property For Sale start at 347,050 Euros and go up to 105, 180 Euros per square meter (from 50 square meter plots to 250 square meter plots).
